Tillicoultry - Clackmannan District
The Clackmannan First World War memorial is a tall rustic grey granite pedestal surmounted by the granite sculpture of a kneeling female figure clutching a wreath in an attitude of mourning (I believe the sculptor for this was George Henry Paulin). The monument stands in the cemetery near the main road.

John Murray is also commemorated on the memorial in Law village, Lanarkshire. His wife was from Tillicoultry, but he (and his two brothers who also fell) were from Law. |

Sgt. David Burnett, 2nd A. and S.H., who has died from wounds, was four years in the Army, and before enlisting was an apprentice gardener. He was invalided home in February as the result of wounds, and returned to France in March."
