The above James Strathie is listed on a Family gravestone on Polmont Cemetery, see (Page 3):
http://scottishwargraves.phpbbweb.com/viewtopic.php?t=233&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30&mforum=scottishwargraves.
The inscription was quite faded (in 2007) and I imagine what was a sapling then, might now be quite a bit bigger unless the groundsmen have chopped it down and cut the rest of the shrubs back a bit.
He's possibly also on Polmont Parish Church Memorial, here: http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=88
But there was another James Strathie not too far away from Polmont (who is listed on a Family stone in Grandsable Cemetery, Grangemouth:
Name: STRATHIE, JAMES
Initials: J
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Corporal
Regiment/Service: Royal Engineers
Unit Text: Railway Transportation Establishment
Age: 44
Date of Death: 29/07/1918
Service No: WR/267550
Additional information: Husband of Ann Jane Strathie (nee Gray), of 93, Lumley St., Grangemouth.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: C. 10.
Cemetery: HUBY-ST. LEU BRITISH CEMETERY
Age stated on stone is 49
See (Page 10): http://scottishwargraves.phpbbweb.com/viewtopic.php?t=262&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=135&mforum=scottishwargraves
He also appears on the Grangemouth Civic Memorial, see: http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=1154
Maybe the two were related?
