David Inglis is named on Lanark War Memorial which identifies him as having served with the 6th Bn HLI. I have been unable to find him on the CWGC database.
Pension Papers do exist and are held on Fold 3 which I am unable to access but the on-line cover page states that he lived at Kirkfieldbank, Lanark. Service Number 27205, rank Private, regiment HLI. He was discharged on 10/3/1919 on grounds of disability and died 5/11/1921.
Death Record (Scotland's People) shows he was a House Painter (Army Pensioner) who died at Bellahouston Hospital (residence Kirkfieldbank, Lanark). Died 5/11/1921, aged 33. Cause of Death: Chronic Intestinal Nephritis and Uraemia.
If anyone has access to Fold 3 I'd be grateful if they could check, please, the reason for discharge. I can then decide as to whether to take forward or NFA.

I've got access, I'll send on what I find.
The first item I looked at noted cause of discharge was nephritis and that it was caused by his service. |

Mike - I think you man's death falls outside the time limit which I think is 31 August 1921.
Incidentally his Medal Roll shows him as serving with the 16th and 2nd Battalions. _________________ Ken |

Thanks both. The exclusion date completely slipped my mind!
Close but not close enough.
NFA then. |
