Nowy-headed wooden backboard on which is a metal plaque with inscription in relief and, at the head between the dates, a thistle coloured in green and gold enclosed in a wreath, with ribbons below.
IRVINE POST OFFICE/ 1914 1918/ TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND/ IN HONOURED MEMORY OF/ OUR COMRADES WHO MADE THE/ SUPREME SACRIFICE IN THE/ GREAT WAR/ (Names)/ "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE"
