Just dropped in here, I'm quite active on on a number of forums concerning WW I, and admin of the Dutch WW I forum. I'm inteested in aerial warfare over Flanders in WW I, the military cemetaries in the same area, naval warfare from the Flanders harbours and bunkers, all WW I related. These are also the topics I'm writing about. And looking forward to see the Scottish memorial at Passendale in August. The Dutch WW I forum will be participating in these events.

Gentlemen,
I have a request. Together with the Dutch WW I forum member Erik Croimans, I'm working on a book on all the WW I cemetaries in West-Flanders (that is the wide Ypres region and coastal area of Flanders).
This means all the CWGC cemetaries, but also the Belgian, French, German, US, Italian ones.
We are now 550 pages far, and should get published by the end of 2008.
We want to include as much information about soldiers as possible, and especially personal stories. If any of you have a relative resting in the Flanders Fields, and you want to share his story and/or a photograph with us, it would be much appreciated, and you will be duly credited for it in the book.
I can be reached at regulusone@skynet.be or regulus1@military.com
Sincere thanks,
Johan |

Johan,
Do you have a list of cemeteries that you are researching?
If so, it would be possible to link many names that have appeared on this forum with your cemetery research. _________________

Derek,
I will make a list. And a promise so that this works for both ways. If anyone needs a photo of a grave on these cemetaries, just give me a sign. I'll gladly do it.
Thanks ! |

Hi Johan,
I was wondering if you'd be interested in photos of Dutch Servicemen's graves in the Stirlingshire area?
I think they're WW2 though.

Anne,
Not really my kind of interest, but as half of the WW I forum we run is Dutch, some people may be interested. Any idea on the circumstances they died in ? That way I could ask the question on the forum.
Thanks
Jo |

Hi Johan,
I don't know!
They're all a standard type and only have the men's name, service no., rank and regiment, like the photo below.

Anne,
I've posted the question on our forum, perhaps someone knows also what happened.
And that way I'll also know if anyone is really interested in this.
Thanks ! |
