In memory of Major Walter Barrie Turnbull, Indian medical Service XXXV SIKHS who died at Mainpuri India on the 15th November 1907.

Walter Barrie Turnbull was born 2.8.1872 C.B. C.M. Ed 1893; Second Lieut 29 July 1895; S.Capt 29 July 1898; Major 29.1.1907 died at Mainpuri 17.11.1907. Entitled to IGS 1895 with two bars, China 1900 with clasp.
The following medals, belonging to Walter Barrie Turnbull was sold at Bonhams in 2004 for £940.
India General Service 1895-1902, two bars,
Punjab Frontier 1897-98,
Waziristan 1901-2, renamed (Captn W.B.Turnbull I.M.S.);
Tibet 1903-04, no bar (Captn W.B.Turnbull I.M.S.).
With an Edinburgh University prize medal in bronze, engraved (Public Health W.B.Turnbull 1892-93). |
