Henry Drummond Church
The church was located in Allander Street at Barloch Street, Possilpark.
It began as the outcome of a mission conducted by Renfield Free Church in Possilpark around 1870. Regular services were initiated in 1878 under the leadership of Professor Henry Drummond. The charge was sanctioned in 1891 and became Possil Park Free Church, adopting later the name of Henry Drummond Memorial Free Church, and, on 11th August 1931, of Henry Drummond United Free Church.
Services were terminated on 8th June 1967 on uniting with Trinity Possil as TRINITY POSSIL AND HENRY DRUMMOND.
The church, which was built in 1881, is now demolished.
The Memorial is now housed within Trinity Possil & henry Drummond Church, 2 Crowhill Street, Glasgow G22 6SR
Many thanks to the Rev. Richard Buckley for allowing me to photograph the memorial.
