Capt SCA Swinton, 8th BLC
Died at Umballah, East Indies, 22nd June 1858
"Boast not thyself of to morrow"
Prov XXVII I
Samuel Charles Alston Swinton, born 22nd September 1820.
His father served the Hon East India Company in the Bengal Civil Service.
Previously received "Maharajpour 1843 (star)" + "Punjab 1848 (medal)".
One online reference says he was Deputy Paymaster, Sikhind Division.
8th BLC = 8th Bengal Light Cavalry. His cause of death is not clear.
