The Devon Valley Tribune - Tuesday 18 March 1947 tells us about na
Corner of Remembrance and Roll of Honour Plaque dedicated to six members of the congregation killed in WW2.
The Corner of Remembrance is a corner with three pews that were seldom used. These were removed and the wall panelled to match the back of the pulpit. The Roll of Honour was to inserted in the centre panel, facing the congregation.
The Baptismal Font was dedicated to the memory of those of the Fellowship who fell in the Great War. It was moved to the central place in the Corner of Remembrance. So the Corner of Remembrance is a combined WW1 and WW2 memorial.
The WW2 men commemorated are:
James Condie
William Clouston
Alexander Martin
James McEwan
David Ness
David Maxwell |
