These pictures are shown here with the permission of the Minister, Rev. Tom Pollock.
He has shared some information regarding this Roll of Honour.
He thinks it came from St Gilberts Church and was stored for many years. When the new Chapel of Remembrance was formed, it was decided to mount the R.of H. within the Chapel. Due to some asbestos content it was necessary to frame the R.of H. which has made the photography rather difficult. It is also quite dark in colour.
The roundel is eagles wings overlaid with a “Tommy” soldier. This suggests verse 31 from Isaiah chapter 40 “But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint.”
