Hi I've just joined your site and would like to say hello to everyone.
I have been tracing my family tree of which knew nothing of any relatives other than my parents and close family members. However I have recently discovered that my great grandfather died in world war 1. and is buried in Karasouli Military Cemetry. He was a sergeant in the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles 11th bn and I have details of two letters from his army colleges to my great grandma, one from Captain J.W. Scougal the other Liuet. I. Marshal Mitchell. They might be of interest to any reletive researching family history. I know that we were delighted to receive them as they are a nice personal insite into the respect and dedication of men under such terrible conditions at that time.

Hi DerekR,
thanks for the welcome, if Barrie knows of any relatives of the two officers mentioned I will happily send the words of the letters, as the newspaper originals are in Montana USA. One of the officers, was with my great grandfather when he was hit and stayed with him until the end. I think it must have been at the Battle of Dorian but I have no proof to that fact other than researching the date he died, (1st May 1917)
