Callander Scouts Build War Memorial Cairn on Dounmhor to Comrades who Fell
A simple but striking memorial cairn to local Boy Scouts who fell has been quietly built on Dounmhor by present Boy Scouts and their Scoutmaster Dr Beattie. Boulders were collected from adjacent crags by the boys themselves and the only professional assistance was with the slab which was gifted by Mr Collier, builder and lettered by Mr S Copland. The Earl of Moray willingly gave consent to using the site as long as no damage was done to the historical fort formation nearby. It is where the scouts romped and rambled in days of peace.
The names are: Jimmy Liles, Archie Macdonald, Ian Macdonald, Leonard Skinner and Peter Stewart.
(They are all also on the Callander Civic Memorial)

I can find no Ian Macdonald with a connection to Callander but going on the assumption that often John was known as Ian, this chap might fit the bill.
