At Tarbet Parish Church there is said to be a Purbeck marble memorial tablet including a badge of Cameron highlanders above the commemoration, which reads-
IN MEMORY OF/ FRANCIS JOHN MACGUNN/ BA BLITT OXON/ LECTURER IN HISTORY/ IN THE UNIVERSITY OF/ GLASGOW CAPTAIN 6TH/ BATTN THE QUEEN'S OWN/ CAMERON HIGHLANDERS/ WHO FELL IN THE BATTLE/ OF LOOS SEPTEMBER THE/ 26TH 1915 AGED 27 YEARS/ I WILL LIFT UP MINE EYES/ VNTO THE HILLS
