There are a number of memorials to the London to Thurso troop trains which ran in WW1 and WW2-the "Jellicoe Express".
Most are of a standard format and are at the following stations-
Edinburgh Waverley
Galashiels
Inverkeithing
Perth
Inverness
Dingwall
Invergordon
Helmsdale -format not confirmed
and Crewe (in England)
They have been installed gradually during 2017 and 2018.
The first plaque (a non standard) format was installed at Thurso Station in 2002
I have raised detailed WMR reports tonight for each of them, but have not found any of them on this Forum |
