Looking at the Church website (after a comment in the chat at Lerwick last night) I see that this Church has both WW1 and WW2 plaques.
They read-
To the Glory of God and in memory of those from this church who gave their lives for us in the Great War 1914-19
John C. Fleming
Robert Gill
John N. Fotheringham
Walter Paterson
Daniel Smart
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends".
and
"To the Glory of God and in loving memory of those of this Church who laid down their lives in the Second World War".
William Conchie
Neil Harvie
James Robb
George Harvie
James A. Ritchie
Robert Scott
Thomas Watson
Alex L. Wemyss
“Their names liveth for evermore." |
