This building is now the Kinclaven Church Hall and sits adjacent the car park beside the church. It was formerly Kinclaven School

It was only in conversation with the Kinclaven Church contact that these Rolls of Honour were mentioned. As I have said on another thread the more you dig....
They were sitting amongst old Cradle Rolls at the back of the stage within the hall.
Its a shame that they are presently resting there and perhaps should be hung in the foyer of the church itself. (Should I actually suggest this?)
At least they do exist though.
At one particular time someone thought it important enough to create and frame some form of commemoration to those who had served and fallen from the tiny school. |

GREAT WAR
Charles Robertson is also commemorated on the Kinclaven Parish Lychgate.
David C Band is included in City of Perth Roll of Honour.
Checked the Perth & Perthshire Roll Golden Book but no signs of James R Foster or John Pettigrew being commemorated elsewhere locally. |

BLAIRGOWRIE ADVERTISER: 15.10.1921
KINCLAVEN ROLL OF HONOUR
A Roll of Honour of the 50 former pupils of Kinclaven School who served in the Great War, inclusive of four who made the supreme sacrifice, was unveiled in the School on Saturday by Mrs A. C. Murray of Taymount. Rev. A. M. Wyllie, Auchtergaven, a member of the School Management Committee, presided.
Mrs Murray said the roll constituted a record for future generations of those who in the Great War came forward and gave their services for their country from the school of Kinclaven. The object of the roll was not only to perpetuate the names of those who risked all for their country in time of need, but to serve also as an inspiring example to future generations to live up to the traditions so nobly established by those whose names were commemorated.
Dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev. W. A. Inglis, of Kinclaven U.F. Church, and addresses were given by Rev. H. K. Reekie, minister of the parish, and the chairman. |

I have created a separate thread where the WW2 Roll of Honour stands alone. I am, however, leaving all pictures here as it would disrupt the way this thread developed. |
