If it was in Mossend it may be worth comparing some of the names against the Bellshill Memorial

This soldier is named on this memorial,
McGUCKIN, John Private 16333 5th Royal Irish Fusiliers
Born: Bothwell, Lanarkshire Resided: Mossend, Lanarkshire Enlisted: Hamilton, Lanarkshire
Date of Death: 22/08/1915 Cause: Killed in action.
Special Notes: Private McGuckin is listed in the Irish War Memorial Records and Soldiers Died (Part 68 ) with his place of birth shown as Bathwell, Lanarkshire; I believe this to be an error and that the correct location is “Bothwell.”
Grave/Memorial: Panel 178 to 180. Helles Memorial.

I'm not sure of the current location of this plaque as I believe the exhibition it was in has now closed. |
