Whilst researching a Private William Stroyan on the Southwick War Memorial I discovered in the local paper of the time that William and Mary Stroyan of Path Cottage, Blackcraig, Newton Stewart had four sons in the service.
William Stroyan Private 1st Cameron Highlanders was KIA 11/11/1914
John Stroyan L/Corp. 11th HLI (born Mainsriddle) was KIA 19/3/1916
Charles Stroyan Sergeant 1st Cameron Highlanders(born Kirkbean) was KIA 18/3/1918
I cannot find either John or Charles on the photos of either Kirkbean or Newton Stewart War Memorials.
Has anyone run across this family?
