Leith St Thomas' Church War Memorial
Location: Leith St Thomas' Junction Road.
My thanks to Andrew Grant for passing on these photographs
This memorial originally hung in the Mill Street building of St Thomas' Church in Leith.
The 1939-45 memorial is a lectern which I don't have a photograph of.
In 1975 St Thomas' merged with Leith Junction Road Church and the merged congregation used the Junction Road Church building up until this month when the Leith St Thomas' Junction Road Church merged with Leith St. Andrew's Church. The new congregation will now use the St Andrew's Church building at the foot of Easter Road so this memorial will probably be on the move again soon.
I will try and get images of the two former church buildings. The Mill Street building is now a Sikh Temple.
St Thomas' lost its Manse in 1915 when it was bombed in a Zeppelin raid.
