Ulva - Argylle & Bute, Island of Mull District
The Ulva war memorial stands by the kirk on the island off the west coast of Mull. This is an island off of an island and is one of the loneliest war memorials I know..or thats how it felt when I visited it. Its also a fine example of the kind of folk art by local builders and craftsmen which produced some of the most moving war memorials in Scotland.
The picture isn't very good, the names on the panel are:
McLean Archibald Scottish Horse Sergeant Major
Munro Neil Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders Private
McGregor Alexander Scottish Horse Private
McKinnon John Alexande Gordon Highlanders Private
