The first picture shows the parish church and you can make out the two memorials on the wall.

Note that this roll of honour contains ONLY the names of those who survived. Those who died are listed on the nearby WW1 memorial.

There is only one apparent duplication that I have spotted - William Grieve - but I don't think it is the same person. Two brothers are on the WW1 (Cross) memorial James and William Grieve but only the first was born in Rockcliffe, Colvend (William was born in Croyden).
Even in those days Rockcliffe was made up of holiday/second homes.
I'm sure that the memorial on the church wall is a "Served and Survived" |
