The memorial has been repaired with a grant of £1,655 from the Centenary Memorials Restoration Fund; Scottish Government funds administered by the War Memorials Trust. This memorial and its restoration is given a full page in the November issue of the War Memorial Trust Bulletin. |

I was pleased to meet the grand-daughter of James McIver and explain how members of SMRG had discovered that his name was missing from CWGC's Debt of Honour register and had managed to get him added so that his was now an official war grave. She asked me to pass on thanks from the family and she confirmed that the correct spelling of the name is McIver and that it is the memorial that has his name misspelt.
