A huge obelisk visible from the A830 at Corpach.

Colonel Cameron fell at the head of his troops at Waterloo:

A memorial to Col Cameron is in the next door Kilmallie Old Churchyard:
Mrs Roxy has asked me to add that it was she who found the Memorial/gravestone!

I hear from Major Ross (Rtd) of the Gordon Highlanders Musuem at Aberdeen the Gordon Highlanders Association maintains this memorial at Corpach

So Colonel Cameron’s body was taken from Waterloo to the local cemetery but he also had a monument built in his memory nearby, that’s interesting that the monument wasn’t placed in the graveyard.
