Battle of Dunbar 1650 Monument
Location: Beside A1087 South of Dunbar, just before the entrance to a quarry.
OS Ref: NT 698 768
A simple memorial to commemorate the Civil War battle of 1650 at Dunbar.
The battlefield is on either side of the new A1. This memorial is situated beside the old A1, now renumbered the A1087.
3rd SEPTEMBER 1650

In the field just behind the memorial there were poppies growing. I hope you can make them out behind the top of the memorial
