Hello.
Just a quick introduction. I have been pointed here by Derek in my research of a couple of men of the KOSB whose medals i picked up in Melrose last year.
Excellent resource - if i had known i could have saved myself a trip to Dalbeattie!
Could easily see myself becoming a collector of KOSB medals so Ive no doubt i will be using this forum in the future.
Cheers!

Welcome, I served 3 years with KOSB myself (in RAPC cap badge) and now live in Dumfries which has an awful lot of KOSB names on memorials nearby, not to mention the now closed Greyfriars church in Dumfries - that is (or was) the Regimental church and contains some laid up colours. I will be hearing from you. |

Welcome to this forum - nice to see another "weel kent" and respected name appearing here.
As for KOSB medals - keep your hands to yourself _________________

Hello there,
I noticed with great interest that you have picked up some KOSB medals. I am sure it would be toooooo good to be true but I am trying to locate medals from a KOSB man (my grandfather). This set would include a DCM and bar.(I hope) and was originally a WW1 and WW2 set. I hope I have not posted in the wrong place...

Hello there,
The set was sold...won't get into that...what do you think might have happened to it...I have a copy of his medal card and a picture of him wearing them?

Glaschu,
Have you a service number and battalion for your man?
I have a split KOSB group to a Pte JOHN MILLIGAN (but not DCM & Bar ) but this is a kia group so probably not yours. _________________

hi Derek,
He was 1st battalion and service no 27719. Do you think the DCM and bar would be in a private collection....I know nothing about medal collections. Not sure what a kia group is
Thanks for replying,
