ELDEST SON OF ROBERT STEUART OF CARFIN
AFTER SERVING THROUGHOUT THE
CRIMEAN CAMPAIGN WITH H.M. 28 REG
HE ENTERED THE INDIAN ARMY WITH WHICH
HE WAS PRESENT AT THE RELIEF AND FINAL
CAPTURE OF LUCKNOW
WHERE HE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY APPOINTED
FIELD SURGEON
THIS TABLET IS ERECTED TO HIS MEMORY
BY SOME OF HIS BROTHER OFFICERS
