Yesterday evening on BBC 4 tv they showed Regimental stories and this week it was on the ROYAL SCOTS GREYS / ROYAL SCOTS DRAGOON GUARDS
Lt Col Roger Binks , Royal Scots Dragoon Guards held the Ensign Charles Ewart , Eagle that Ensign Ewart of the Royal Scots Greys captured from the French at the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815 .
The programme too showed a Pub in Edinburgh called THE ENSIGN EWART Pub after Ensign Charles Ewart , Royal Scots Greys - The Hero of Waterloo ". Outside the pub there is a sign showing a portrait of ENSIGN CHARLES EWART .

And quite a nice wee pub it is (if a little touristy). I used to call it my local about 18 years ago when I lived at Upper Bow in the Lawnmarket.
There are plenty of images of the Scots Greys at Waterloo inside it too; Lady Butler's "Scotland Forever" etc.
