If anyone would like to know about the Paisley Men,as well as men from Houston,Howwood,Johnstone,Kilbarchan,Linwood,Lochwinnoch and Renfrew
who died in World War 1,they should visit the Reference Library,Paisley Central Library at 68 High St.,Paisley,PA1 2BB,Tel.No.0300 300 1188.The Register "Wasted Journey,The Buddies Who Never Came Back" contains over 3,000 names giving the Soldier's date & place of birth, parents names,
father's occupation and if married, full details regarding his wife,as well as Burial or Memorial details.
Along with The Register there are eight volumes of War Diaries containing 469 separate War Diary Entries, some with accompanying Trench Maps, all pertaining to the men in The Register. |

Sounds like an excellent resource.
Scotlands biggest town was needing something in the way of a proper roll of honour, as the memorial has no names. |
