UKNIWM Ref: Not Listed
In Gretna Old Parish Church, near to Gretna Green civic memorial at OS Map Ref: NY 319 680
On 22nd May 2015 the Princess Royal unveiled a Roll of Honour to those who perished at Quintinshill. At the same time she also planted a tree at the village war memorial.
Shortly beforehand, the Princess Royal inspected a display of 227 clay thistles for display at the local school's entrance and a tapestry of the event to be hung in Stormont Hall although it is not believed these were intended to be memorials in the normal understanding of the term.
Details of the event and unveiling were published in the D&G Standard of 29th May 2015. |
