In November 1917 Mrs RB Don of Tealing House donated The Lodge,133 Queen Street,Broughty Ferry to be used an Infants Hospital in memory of her late husband, and her two sons who died earlier in the war.
The Lodge was already in use as a Red Cross Hospital and became the Infants Hospital after the war in 1919.It remained in use until 1965 when it became the Limb Fitting Centre.
The two brothers who died were:
Lt Archibald WR Don 10th Black Watch kia 11/9/1916 aged 25
Lt Robert M Don 10th Black Watch kia 8/5/1917
The Limb Fitting centre is no longer there and i`ll post a pic when i find one. |
