Courier & Advertiser Thursday 10th November 2016 : Craigie page :
Great War Windows :
Saturdays The Archives of 100 years ago featured the unveiling of the Memorial Windows to the Watson brothers in ST FILLANS U F CHURCH, Newport , emails Hugh Macrae of Dundee.
"Subsequently , two more windows relating to the Great War were installed in the church . On May 15th ,1919, a threee light window to the memory of LANCE CORPORAL GAVIN ARTHUR WILSON, 14TH London Scottish , the son of the owner of G L Wilson's Stores in Dundee and brother of later Lord Provost GARNET WILSON , was dedicated.
"on Sunday, March 27th , 1921 , a large window in memory of the war dead of the congregation was also unveiled in the church.
"The church was eventually demolished in 1979. Does anyone know what happened to the windows or have any pictures of them ? I can be contacted either through the column or by email at hughmacrae111@btinternet.com |

Moving this to the "Lost?" section as we have no evidence it still exists. |
