Hello, I am pleased to join this new forum on Scottish War Memorials.
I have a general interest in the Great War, which became focused on my reseach into my grandfather's WW1 service. He was in the Seaforths. After researching his service I went on to become a regional volunteer for Friends of War Memorials (now the War Memorials Trust), however as I now work abroad I can only indulge my interests via the web, so this site nicely combines my memorial interests and my Scottish heritage.
Aside from the grandfather, who happily came home, I had a Scottish grand uncle in the HLI who did not, and yet another Scottish grand uncle who also served in the HLI but I think he was medically discharged.

May their fame live on forever.
