Anne,
I've never heard of this memorial before. It looks to be in very good condition.
Is it easily accessible? _________________

Neil Oliver mentions it in his book 'Not Forgotten'. It's near a housing estate and he used to live down the road from it before he moved to Stirling.

Well, it's easily accessible if you can find it!!
It's on Lochgreen Road just before the right turn to Greenbank Road. Now this sounds straightforward enough - but . . . .
On Multimap, on the scale of 1:25,000, the monument is quite clearly marked but when you try and go any closer in, it disappears. The monument sits on a bend on the road - you can't park right beside it. If approaching from the Greenbank Road side, you have to drive past it and a couple of hundred yards along the road, on the left, Bantaskine Estate has a big car park. If approachng the other way, the entry to the Estate is easy to miss as it only looks like a break in the wall.
If anyone really wants to visit, there is a much easier way to find it. From the Beefeater Restaurant in Camelon, go along Glenfuir Road. Keep going straight ahead and the road becomes Greenbank Road. Follow Greenbank Road under the Union Canal. The road rises quite steeply and there's quite a few crazy bends until you eventually reach the junction with Lochgreen Road. Here, turn left and the memorial is only a couple of hundred yards along the road.
