I've copied this from the Renfrewshire Civic memorials - Giffnock thread.
Can a MOD delete the original please?

Hi there, wondered if you can help.
Our office staff were clearing out a cupboard and they found a WW I medal - think it was the 'general service' medal. The details inscribed on the rim were 103438 Piper H G Robinson RAMC.
Can we find out any details of this individual ?
Regards Jim Blair
Jim the only reference I can find is a Medal Card and Medal Roll for
PRIVATE 103438 RONALD RADLEY ROBINSON of the RAMC
but he appears to have been from the Sheffield area - born 1893 in Ecclesall Bierlow. In 1911 he was an Estate Agents clerk aged 18.
He was awarded a British War Medal and a Victory Medal. _________________ Ken |

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the info .
Its a strange one :?: The names not matching with the initials !
Think I need to do some more digging in our old church records to see if I can uncover the connection with Giffnock. Will keep you posted if I discover any more details.
Thanks again for your help
Regards

Hi there, have just had an actual look at the medal and the initials are in fact R R, so I think you have found our man. All I need to do now is to find his connection to Orchardhill church .
Regards
