I've found a reference of this church building now being used as a fitness centre. Did the tablet make it into another church when it closed?
From "The Scotsman" 14th February 1921
GALASHIELS
In Ladhope Parish Church, Galashiels, a memorial tablet bearing the names of 53 men connected with the congregation who fell in the war was unveiled by the Rev. Lachlan M'Lean Watt, D.D., Edinburgh |

I will take a look next time I pass through Gala, but the fitness centre had closed some years ago and the building was looking frankly pretty rough.
That said I've a vague inkling I read about it reopening after a refit.
It's eminently possible the memorial relocated with the congregation.
Ladhope Church of Scotland was built 1838. It became a parish church on 11th July 1855 when given 'quoad sacra' status.
Ladhope united with St Cuthbert's, on 3rd January 1975, as Ladhope St Cuthbert's using the St Cuthbert's building, up in Gala Park Road. This name was presumably rather clumsy and so on 3rd March 1981 the name St Aidan's was adopted. As noted... the Ladhope building became a fitness centre.
In 2005 St Aidan's united with St Ninian's under the name Trinity in the fine St Ninian's building on the High Street... planning permission for a refurbishment of St Aidan's as flats was granted but work hasn't started in the intervening years. I drove past last week, and it's overgrown and now surrounded by security fencing, although in a good town centre location.
If the memorial was relocated from Ladhope after 1975, it could therefore be in the current Trinity church - or maybe in the closed St Aidan's church which is now on the Buildings at Risk Register:

I stopped by the church today.
It has been fully refurbished as "Ladhope Business Centre".
(Some of the firms seem to call it "Ladhope Vale Centre").
It includes offices on 3 storeys, and a dental surgery.

Just as a possible related update to this - according to local BBC News the St Aidan's building has now been bought and it will be be turned into 16(!) flats, with another 11 flats on halls and piece of land behind.
