The memorial is within Lochee Parish Church. It could be a Boys' Brigade Battalion affiliated to the church;

Mystery solved.
RGR refers to Robert Grant Reid who was associated with the Boys Brigade in Dundee for almost 50 years,and in particular the 6th Lochee Brigade where he was Captain from 1906 to 1946.He then became the Commanding Officer of the Dundee Battalion in 1947.He was also the Hon Captain and President of the Ex Members Assn and President of the Anchorites from 1910 to 1950.Rose from message boy to Works Manager at Camperdown Jute Works.Served in the Seaforths in WW1.Elder at Lochee east and JP.Lived at 2 Liff Road,Dundee.Died on 6th December 1964 aged amost 86. |
