WMR 80668
The Grangemouth Rechabite Hall had a WW1 Brass Plaque in oak frame, with 33 names. It is believed lost since the building was closed and demolished in the 1960's.
Details are in The Falkirk Herald of 26 November 1921
The full description was: a polished brass plaque, inset in a pillowed oak frame. The insignia of the Gem of the Forth Tent, I.O.R., surmounts the design, within a wreath of thistles and scroll, coloured with red and blue. A figure of Britannia at the left side holding a wreath of victory in outstretched hand, with the Union Jack also in colour, dominates the design.
The dedication was: “In everlasting remembrance of the members of this tent who gave their lives in the Great War.” /(names)/ “And in commemoration of the other 220 members who responded to their country’s call.”/1914 - 1919/ “Their names liveth for evermore”
The names are on the WMR report |
