This family certainly covered a lot of Caithness - Wick, Latheron, Halkirk, Thurso and Reay. I wonder if he's on another memorial? Unfortunately Jas Sutherlands and Seaforth Highlanders are very common in this part of the world so it won't be easy to find out.

For conspicuous gallantry and coolness in
the attack at Domart, on 8th August, 1918.
A heavy enemy barrage while the company
was in the assembly area caused numerous
casualties and some confusion. This N.C.O.
by his courage and coolness greatly assisted
the officers in getting the men forward. He
also materially helped to get the company to
their objective when a thick fog set in and
the company had twice to change direction.
On another occasion during the advance an
enemy machine-gun post delayed them; he
rushed forward, put the machine gun out of
'action, and killed six of the gun crew.
